Orange Violet Dwarf Tarantula for sale (Citharacanthus cyaneus)

The Orange Violet Dwarf Tarantulafor sale (Citharacanthus cyaneus) is a small but striking species that has quickly gained attention among collectors looking for something different. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in color. This tarantula displays a unique mix of orange tones paired with subtle violet or bluish hues, creating a contrast that stands out without being overly bright. Its compact size and distinctive look make it an appealing option for keepers who want a species that doesn’t require much space but still offers visual interest.

Native to the Caribbean, this species tends to stay close to the ground and behaves like a terrestrial tarantula. It may create shallow burrows or take cover under hides, but it is generally more visible than deep-burrowing species. Because of its smaller size, it is often chosen by hobbyists who want to keep multiple species without needing large enclosures, or by those specifically interested in dwarf tarantulas.

Fully grown, the Orange Violet Dwarf Tarantula for sale typically reaches around two to three inches in leg span. Growth is moderate, and like most tarantulas, females live longer than males, often lasting several years under proper care. Males mature faster and have shorter lifespans. Despite its size, it is an active and capable predator that behaves much like larger species when it comes to feeding and webbing.

Temperament is generally manageable, but it is not a species that should be handled. Like many New World tarantulas, it can flick urticating hairs if disturbed, and due to its small size and quick movements, it can be difficult to control if it decides to move suddenly. It is best treated as a display animal and maintained with basic caution during routine care.

Orange Violet Dwarf Tarantula for sale – Feeding And Housing

Housing the Orange Violet Dwarf Tarantula for sale is simple and does not require much space. A small terrestrial enclosure with secure ventilation works well. Providing a few inches of substrate allows for light burrowing, along with a small hide for security. Substrate can be kept slightly moist but not wet, as this helps maintain a stable environment without creating excess humidity. Temperatures in the mid to upper 70s Fahrenheit are generally suitable, and like most dwarf species, it adapts well when kept within a stable range.

Feeding is straightforward. Due to its size, it should be offered appropriately sized prey such as small crickets or roach nymphs. It has a good feeding response and will actively hunt when given the opportunity. Juveniles can be fed a couple of times per week, while adults typically do well on a weekly schedule. Uneaten prey should always be removed to keep the enclosure clean and stress-free.
